EUDONORGAN was a European Union–funded project designed to improve organ donation through a blended-learning “Train-the-Trainers” program combined with social awareness activities across Europe and neighbouring countries. My role as an educationalist focused on the design and development of training materials, including microlearning and e-learning components, and on integrating active, competency-based learning methodologies. I also contributed to social awareness events, ensuring alignment between professional training and public engagement strategies. The program demonstrated measurable improvements in participants’ knowledge, attitudes, and perceptions.
PhD research
This project constituted the foundation of my PhD research, where I conducted a systematic, mixed-methods evaluation of the educational design, implementation, and impact of the program. The research analyzed learning outcomes, attitudinal change, and the effectiveness of the Train-the-Trainers model, as well as the role of blended and microlearning approaches in large-scale capacity-building initiatives. This work contributes evidence to medical education on how structured training and awareness strategies can influence both professional practice and public attitudes toward organ donation.
