The “Alignment in Organ Donation” project in Turkey (2013–2015) was a EuropeAid initiative designed to harmonize national organ donation practices with EU standards while strengthening professional capacity through a structured Train-the-Trainers model. I contributed as an international expert in educational methodology and assessment, focusing on training needs analysis, program design, and the development of assessment strategies tailored to future trainers. This included delivering a plenary session on educational methods and leading repeated small-group practical workshops, where participants collaboratively designed training programs adapted to regional needs in organ donation. The program emphasized blended learning approaches, combining theoretical input with hands-on group work, and incorporated structured follow-up through individual educational and assessment plans submitted after the training. The initiative successfully enhanced trainer competencies in both domain-specific content and pedagogy, strengthened communication skills for sensitive contexts such as family consent discussions, and established a sustainable framework for scaling high-quality organ donation training across Turkey.
